Part-Time or Full-Time Nanny - Poway (San Diego), CA

Family in Poway is seeking an experienced, engaging nanny for their active 3 year old boy! Their ideal nanny is super reliable, is knowledgeable of the area and nearby activities, and can create some structure in their son’s day. He has a speech delay and will be doing some speech therapy. No previous experience with this is required, just a lot of patience as sometimes his struggle to communicate can lead to meltdowns. Parents’ value treating their son with respect, holding firm boundaries, and letting him get messy and have fun! Dad works from a home office and travels a lot, Mom is a wedding florist and has a garage studio, she will be in and out of the house depending on her work.

This can be a part-time position for 25 hours per week, up to more full-time 35 hours per week based on the nanny’s preference. Family is looking for a long term commitment, at least 1 year. They are hoping to have a second child so there is potential for an even more long term role for the right fit.

Location:

Poway, CA

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, flexible to create the exact schedule with their nanny, but looking for a consistent M-F schedule.

Willing to guarantee anywhere between 25 - 35 hours per week based on the nanny’s preference.

Rate:

$30-$35 per hour DOE, paid on payroll

Boy, 3 years - Fun loving, active boy! He LOVES stuffed animals, he has SO many and knows them all by name. Into Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Bluey. He also really loves reading, he will sit and read books with you for hours. He likes building with blocks, playing pretend - everything is a space ship to him! He is a sweet and sensitive guy, needs help navigating big feelings and naming his emotions.

Pets in the home:

Responsibilities:

All aspects of typical chid care - Engaging him in developmentally appropriate activities, preparing healthy meals and snacks, creating and maintaining a daily routine for him. Taking him on outings to the park, library, etc. Teaching life skills through letting him help with cooking, his laundry, etc. Household responsibilities related to the child including his dishes, laundry, and keeping his rooms and play areas tidy. If working 35 hours per week, parents would ask for more household help such as grocery shopping, family laundry, etc.

Requirements:

3+ years of professional childcare experience

Previous experience with active 3 year olds, bonus if you have experience with speech delays

Knowledge of child development and proactive in planning activities

Patient, calming presence, able to help him through meltdowns

Valid driver’s license, reliable car, and clean driving record

Infant/Child CPR Certified

Up to date on vaccines is preferred

Trustline Registered or willing to register

Able to work legally in the US
