Part-Time Nanny - La Jolla, CA
Sweet parents in La Jolla are seeking a part-time nanny to support their family and provide loving care for their 1 year old son who has been diagnosed with Epilepsy. Mom is a stay at home mom and Dad works from home. The nanny’s role will be to care for the baby so Mom can take a break, get some housework or cooking done, or run an errand. His seizures are currently fully under control with medication and he has not had any seizures since he was about 4 months old. Their ideal nanny has a naturally warm and nurturing personality, knowledge of child development, and is very experienced with children his age. Must be safety conscious and fully focused on him. This is a long term role with potential to grow with the family. There is a cat in the home.
Location:
La Jolla, CA
Schedule:
Tuesday/Thursday 3pm - 7 pm.
Ideal candidate is flexible to work some Fridays 3pm-7pm and some weekend shifts when planned ahead.
Rate:
$30-$35 per hour DOE

Responsibilities:
All things toddler care! Feeding bottles and solids and preparing meals for him as he gets older. Diaper changes, following his nap schedule, engaging him in age appropriate activities to work towards development and milestones. Light housekeeping related to baby such as washing his bottles and keeping his room and play areas clean and organized. He is crawling all over and pulling himself up, he definitely wants to walk soon! Close supervision is important both with his age/stage of development and with an added layer of his epilepsy. No driving will be required.
Requirements:
5+ years of professional childcare experience including experience with infants/toddlers.
Warm, nurturing personality, calming presence
Comfortable with caring for a child with epilepsy and willing to learn from parents, no previous epilepsy experience is required
Able to make a long term commitment (minimum 1 year)
Valid Driver’s License
Infant/Child CPR Certified
Trustline Registered or willing to register
Able to work legally in the US
Bonus if you have education credits in child development or teaching
