Part-Time Nanny/Family Assistant - Encinitas, CA

Busy family in Encinitas is seeking two part-time nannies to provide high quality care for their little ones and help keep their household running smoothly! They are seeking a shorter term morning nanny who can stay with them until next Fall, and a longer term afternoon nanny/family assistant to work with them for years to come.

They have two boys currently ages 1 and 2.5. The 2.5 year old attends preschool 5 days per week until 3pm and they anticipate sending their younger child to the same preschool next fall when he turns 2. Both parents work full time, Mom works outside of the home and Dad works from home.

Their ideal nanny is energetic, engaging, nurturing, and will keep their active boys busy with fun activities and outings. Punctuality and reliability are important as well as being able to follow the children’s set schedule/routine and following how parents like things done. Must have strong communication skills and work well as a team with parents and another nanny.

Schedule:

There are multiple schedule options as follows:

Morning shift with approximately a 9 month commitment - Monday - Friday from 7:30am to1:30pm (exact end time flexible)

Afternoon shift with a long term, ongoing commitment - Monday - Friday from 12:30pm - 6:30pm (exact start time flexible)

Flexibility to work 1 weekend day per month is preferred.

Rate:

Around $35 per hour DOE, can pay on payroll

Responsibilities:

The nanny’s main responsibility and priority is providing attentive, engaging care to the children. All typical childcare duties such as following their daily routines, preparing meals and snacks, diaper changes, putting them down for naps on schedule. Planning and engaging them in age appropriate activities such as sensory play, reading, and arts and crafts. Driving to and from preschool and on outings to the playground, library, beach, etc. Child related chores such as washing bottles and dishes used, children’s laundry, keeping their rooms and play areas clean and organized. For their long term afternoon nanny, they would like some family assistant help while the kids are at preschool such as running family errands, pet care, and household organization.

Requirements:

5+ years of professional childcare experience, must have experience with older school aged children

Previous experience in a family assistant role involving both childcare and household help

Self-motivated, proactive, warm and engaging

Extremely reliable and punctual

Comfortable swimming with the boys, they have a pool in their backyard

Child CPR certified

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, reliable vehicle for transporting the kids

Trustline Registered or willing to register

Able to work legally in the US

Primary responsibilities include: provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a baby and toddler, maintain consistent routines for naps, meals and activities, plan age appropriate play, pick up and drop off for toddler, communicate with parents and co-nanny about daily routines and needs, run family errands, light housekeeping related to children, and assist with light household organization, pet care, scheduling etc.

 • Reliable, enthusiastic and proactive

 • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to get certified)

 • Has reliable transportation (preschool pick up and drop off is part of the role :))

 • Non-smoker

 • Comfortable with pets
