Part-Time Nanny - Del Mar, CA

Sweet family that recently moved to Del Mar from Austin, TX is seeking a warm, creative, and enthusiastic nanny to join their household team in their new home! Both parents are entrepreneurs who work from home and are very hands on parents to their 2 kids ages 3.5 years and 10 months. They describe themselves as a health conscious, active, and creative family. The kids often co-sleep with them and they don’t allow any crying it out, try to follow the kids’ cues and intuition. They plan to do homeschool/alternative schooling. They start their days as a family walking their dog on the beach, their ideal nanny is a dog lover as well. This is a long term role for someone who is truly passionate about their work with kids and will become a member of their family for years to come! An ideal fit for them is someone who brings a calm and nurturing energy, presence and attunement to each child as an individual, and an excitement and enthusiasm for play.

Location:

Del Mar, CA

Schedule:

Approximately 30 hours per week.

M/W 9:30am - 2pm

T/TH 9am - 5pm

Fridays generally are date night from 6pm - 10pm. They are also open to having date night on a different night of the week and giving Fridays mostly off.

Rate:

$30-$35 per hour DOE

Children in the home:

Girl, 10 months - Sweet, happy baby girl. She is breastfed and will not take a bottle so far, is eating solids as well. Is napping 2-3 times a day currently and is not on a strict schedule, they follow her cues.

Boy, 3.5 years - He currently attends preschool M/W/F, he will be starting at a farm school in June that will be M-F. He still naps in the afternoons most days.

Pets in the home:

1 dog, golden retriever

Responsibilities:

All typical infant care duties such as diapering, putting down for naps, feeding some solids (Mom will be home to breastfeed). Engaging baby in developmentally appropriate activities and working on milestones, taking her on walks in the neighborhood. Playing with and engaging 3.5 year old in creative activities, playing outside, etc. Prepare meals and snacks for children as needed. Household related responsibilities are limited to cleaning up after yourself and the children, and keeping their play areas and rooms tidy. No driving is required for this role, parents prefer not to have the nanny drive the children.

Requirements:

3+ years of professional childcare experience, must have prior experience with infants

Strong knowledge of child development and a passion for working with children

Calm, nurturing, creative, and energetic

Infant/Child CPR certified

Trustline Registered or willing to register

Able to work legally in the US

Willing to travel with the family is a bonus
