Part-Time Nanny - Carlsbad, CA
Family in Carlsbad is seeking a part-time nanny to care for their sweet 3 month old and occasionally their 2 year old when daycare is closed. Dad works outside the home as a software engineer and Mom works 2 days per week as a marriage and family therapist. Parents are currently on leave and will be returning to work in January. Their ideal nanny is nurturing and gentle, very engaged with the kids, validates emotions, and can hold firm boundaries when needed. They are a Christian family so a bonus would be a nanny who shares their faith. They are looking for a long term commitment, at least one year.

Carlsbad, CA
Schedule:
Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30am - 1:30pm
12 hours per week guaranteed. Occasional date nights desired.
Rate:
$30 per hour, paid on payroll
Benefits:
Guaranteed hours, paid sick days accrued as per law

Children:
Boy, 3 months - He will be the nanny’s main responsibility
Boy, 2 years - He is in daycare/preschool until 12:30pm, Mom will pick him up. Nanny will only be responsible for his care on occasion when daycare is closed.
Pets in the home:
1 dog, large goldendoodle
Responsibilities:
All aspects of typical infant care including feeding bottles, diapering, following his nap schedule, tummy time, etc. Engage him in developmentally appropriate activities as he grows, take him out on stroller walks. Care for both children when 2 year old is home on occasion, preparing him meals and snacks, engaging him in crafts, imaginative play, etc. Household duties related to the children such as washing bottles, children’s laundry, keeping play areas tidy. They live within walking distance to the park, driving is not needed at this time, but may be in the future. Family has a “no bodies of water” policy with caregivers, so no pools, beach, or even baths.
Requirements:
2+ years of professional childcare experience, must include at least 2 years of infant experience
Knowledge of child development and milestones
Nurturing, patient, gentle approach
Able to make a long term commitment, at least 1 year
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Infant/Child CPR Certified
Trustline Registered or willing to register
Able to work legally in the US
Bonus if you have education credits in child development or if you speak a second language
