Part-Time Family Assistant - Palo Alto, CA

Busy family in Palo Alto is seeking a proactive, reliable family assistant to support their household. They have 2 children ages 3 and 5 (3 year old is in preschool/daycare and 5 year old will start Kindergarten in August). As care for their kids is mostly covered these days, their biggest needs are in household support such as laundry, dishes, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. Their ideal candidate does have experience working with children as the work day will start off with school drop off for both kids, then return to the home to handle the household responsibilities. They are looking for a long term commitment, minimum 1 year.

Location:

Palo Alto, CA

Schedule:

3 days per week, flexible on which days.

Desired hours are 7:30am - 11:30am or 12:30pm

12-15 hours per week guaranteed (depending on your preference)

Rate:

$35-$40 per hour DOE

Both kids are in school full time, only responsibility related to the children is dropping them off at school in the morning.

Responsibilities:

Arrive at 7:30am and drive the children to their 2 different schools, both close by to the home. After drop off return to the home and complete family assistant tasks such as unloading/loading the dishwasher, family laundry, light housekeeping and “resetting” the home from the morning rush. Putting away ordered groceries or running to the grocery store, meal prep to make their evenings easier, running other errands as requested. Ideal candidate is proactive and open to pitching in wherever needed. Some days there might not be enough tasks assigned to fill all of the hours, but hours will be guaranteed regardless. They live in an apartment so it is not a large home to take care of.

*Family assistant will need to use their own car for transporting kids to school as both parents commute to work with their cars.

Requirements:

2+ years of professional experience in domestic roles such as housekeeping, family assisting, or nannying

Comfortable in the kitchen for meal prepping

Infant/Child CPR certified

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, reliable vehicle for dropping off children at school

Self-motivated, proactive, warm and patient with kids

Trustline Registered or willing to register

Able to work legally in the US
