Part-Time Nanny/Family Assistant - Carmel Valley, San Diego

Family in Carmel Valley is seeking a proactive, positive family assistant to support their day to day needs as a family. They have one sweet 3 year old boy and both parents work from home on their own businesses. Their ideal candidate can easily switch off between childcare and household tasks as needed. They are a health conscious, holistic family and love to be very hands on and present with their son, let him explore and experience things in a hands on way such as helping in the kitchen or sensory activities and crafts.

They would like a minimum of a 6 month commitment with the intention to extend longer.

Location:

Carmel Valley neighborhood of San Diego

Schedule:

8am - 2pm or 3pm Monday - Thursday

Will guarantee 24-28 hours per week based on the nanny’s preferred schedule

Rate:

$35-$40 per hour DOE, paid on payroll

Benefits:

Guaranteed hours, paid sick days and holidays, PTO accrual

Children in the home:

Boy, 3 - He is a sweet and sensitive kid, can be shy, but also outgoing. He loves trucks and playing at the playground. He is a little delayed in his speech and potty training, he is in speech therapy once a week.

Pets in the home:

None, but they would like to get a dog or cat in the near future so their ideal nanny is pet friendly

Responsibilities:

Both parents usually have work meetings in the morning, so the nanny would be caring for the boy during that time. Engaging him in developmentally appropriate activities, imaginative play, taking him to the playground or library. Prepare snacks and meals for him as needed. He is not yet potty trained so changing diapers, helping encourage him to use the potty as they would like to focus more on that soon. Follow his schedule for meal times and nap time. Later in the day as parents are done with their meetings, they would like more help as a family assistant with tasks such as laundry, dishes, meal prep, and errands.

Requirements:

5+ years of professional childcare experience, ideally experienced with the preschool age group

Previous experience in a family assistant role involving both childcare and household help is preferred

Infant/Child CPR certified

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Self-motivated, proactive, warm and engaging

Trustline Registered or willing to register

Able to work legally in the US

Bonus if you are willing to cook for the whole family a few days per week
