Occasional Overnight Nanny - Murphy Canyon, San Diego, CA
A new-to-San Diego military family is seeking an overnight nanny for occasional care of their 3 year old son. Mom is a Navy surgeon and has periods of time where she is on-call overnight from 6pm - 6am. Dad works mainly from home, but sometimes travels for work for 1-2 weeks at a time. When Mom’s on-call nights overlap with Dad’s work travel they will be in need to someone to stay with their sweet boy overnight. This will be an occasional position with dates provided as much in advance as possible. The family would like to have a roster of 2-3 nannies who are interested in occasional work as they understand it might be difficult for one person to always guarantee their availability for the on-call nature of the work.

Dates needed will be given at least 2 weeks in advance, in some cases several months in advance
Rate:
The family’s desired budget is around $220 per night.
Open to paying an hourly rate for all hours or an hourly rate for waking hours and flat fee for sleeping hours.

Responsibilities:
The nanny will mainly be there to be a responsible adult presence in the home while parents are away overnight. The boy typically sleeps without waking from 8pm - 6am, if he does wake up for some reason the nanny will be there to soothe him and help him go back to sleep. If Mom is called to the hospital, responsibilities may include picking him up from his daycare at 6pm, feeding him dinner and doing his bedtime routine. The nanny may need to also drop him off at the daycare in the morning if Mom is still at the hospital. The nanny will be provided with a private bedroom to sleep.
Requirements:
2+ years of previous professional childcare experience
Child CPR certified
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, reliable vehicle for transporting the child
Trustline Registered or willing to register
Able to work legally in the US
Interested in a long term relationship with the family
