Full-Time Nanny - Point Loma, San Diego, CA
Loving family in Point Loma is seeking an experienced, career nanny to join their household team! The nanny will work alongside Mom to care for their 2 kids ages 1.5 and 4 years, Dad will be working from home in his home office. Mom is seeking someone who will be her teammate and become like part of the family. They have extended family in the area and often have other family members spending time at the house. The household is also staffed with a housekeeper, chef, and house manager so being comfortable in a busy household working as a team is very important! They have a large yard with a pool, play structure, etc. and prioritize spending time outside. Their ideal nanny is warm and loving, has a calming presence, is a proactive go-getter, and can adapt easily to the needs of the day.
Parenting philosophy - We are very gentle parents, but hold our boundaries. We talk to our kids with respect, treat them the same as we would an adult. We care deeply about their feelings, label their feelings, listen to them, and give them a lot of verbal affirmation. I (Mom) am a former teacher and really value incorporating learning throughout the day. We want the nanny to create activities and learning opportunities, be proactive with teaching and engaging them just as we would.
*Important items to note: Both kids have food allergies, must be comfortable with this and conscientious not to bring any food allergens into the home. Must be able to travel with the family - typically 2 longer trips per year and more frequent local travel such as to Disneyland. Up to date on vaccinations is strongly preferred. Long term commitment.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
Flexibility for date nights and travel, travel may include weekends
Rate:
$38-$45 per hour DOE, paid on payroll

Children:
Boy, 4 - Very active! Attends preschool 2 days per week currently, will go to TK next year. Might sign him up for more sports or other activities soon.
Girl, 1.5 - Your typical toddler! So much development and exploration happening at this age. Has had some ongoing diaper rash issues, must be attentive to this and changing diapers frequently.
Pets in the home:
2 cats. Family would like to get a dog in the next year as well.
Responsibilities:
All typical child related duties - changing diapers, helping with dressing and hygiene, feeding, putting down for naps. Engaging them in developmentally appropriate activities, being proactive with creating learning opportunities. Playing outside, must be comfortable swimming with the kids in their pool. While a lot of the job is working alongside Mom, the nanny must be able to handle care of both kids on their own at times when Mom is out of the house. Occasional driving, for the most part Mom and Dad handle preschool drop off and pick up. Must be a proactive multitasker who can help with kids laundry and dishes, keeping kids rooms and play areas organized and tidy. Travel with the family on shorter local trips such as a few days at Disneyland and 2 longer trips per year (such as travelling to Europe for 2 weeks).
Requirements:
5+ years of professional nanny experience, including experience with children ages 1-5
Knowledge of child development and able to engage both kids in developmentally appropriate learning activities
Up to date on all vaccinations including Covid and Flu
Experienced with or at least comfortable working with kids with food allergies
Able to make a long term commitment, 2+ years
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Infant/Child CPR Certified
Trustline registered or willing to register
Passport ready, willing and able to travel with the family internationally and domestically
Able to work legally in the US
Bonus if you have a degree in a child related field or speak a second language
